The talent gets them noticed.
The mindset takes them the distance.

One-on-one coaching for young athletes and students — turning nerves into nerve, pressure into focus, and setbacks into the next play. Built on the same three things that build everything else: consistency, discipline, grit.

Consistency. Discipline. Grit.

Three words your kid will carry long after the final whistle.

The Work

Three ways we train the part no one else coaches.

Kids get coached on their swing, their stride, and their grades. Almost no one trains what's happening between their ears. That's where we start — and it's what changes everything else.

01

Mental Performance

The inner game. Real tools to handle pressure, quiet self-doubt, reset after a mistake, and compete with a clear head when it counts most.

  • Game-day nerves & anxiety
  • Focus, routines & the "next play" reset
  • Confidence & self-talk
  • Visualization & pre-performance prep
02

Life Coaching

Bigger than any one sport. Goals, grit, and the kind of self-worth that isn't tied to a scoreboard — so they grow into who they're meant to be.

  • Goal-setting & habits that stick
  • Identity & confidence off the field
  • Handling failure & comparison
  • Leadership, ownership & accountability
03

Sports Performance

Where mindset meets the scoreboard. We translate mental skill into reps and results, so your athlete performs nearer their ceiling — and does it consistently.

  • Pre-game & in-game mental routines
  • Bouncing back from losses & injury
  • Competing hard without burning out
  • Tryout, recruiting & big-moment pressure

The Approach

Clear for the kid. Visible for the parent. No fluff.

  1. 01

    Discovery Call

We talk with you and your kid about what's getting in the way — on the field and off. No pressure, no jargon.

  2. 02

    The Game Plan

A personalized roadmap built around their specific challenge: confidence, focus, pressure, motivation — or all of it.

  3. 03

    1:1 Coaching

Regular virtual or in-person sessions where mental skills are trained like reps — practical, age-fit, built to use.

  4. 04

    Reinforce & Grow

Between-session work, parent check-ins, and progress notes — so growth shows up at practice, at games, and at home.

By Age & Stage

An eight-year-old and a senior need very different things.

The language, the tools, and the goals all shift to meet your kid exactly where they are.

Ages 8–11

Young Athletes

Make it fun, build bravery, and fall in love with effort. Handling "I'm not good at this," big tries, and being a great teammate.

Ages 12–14

The Middle Years

The pressure ramps — tryouts, social life, comparison, self-doubt. Building focus, resilience, and an identity beyond the scoreboard.

Ages 15–18

High School & Next

Higher stakes: varsity, recruiting, college, and figuring out who they are. Sharpening toughness, leadership, and decision-making.

Your Coach

Gregory Vetter

He turned a family recipe into Tessemae's — America's leading organic dressing brand — through more pressure, failure, and comebacks than most people see in a lifetime.

Greg knows what it takes to perform when it's hard, to lose and get back up, and to keep a clear head when everything's on the line. He wrote the unfiltered story in his memoir, Undressed. Now he's handing that same playbook to the next generation — coaching kids and teens to navigate their own path with confidence, discipline, and a mindset that outlasts any single season.

  • Founder of Tessemae's & author of Undressed
  • Decades turning setbacks into comebacks
  • Mentor to founders, leaders — now young athletes

Voices

The kind of growth parents notice first.

It rarely starts on the scoreboard. It starts with a kid who believes in themselves again.

She used to fall apart after one mistake. Now she resets and keeps playing. The change in her confidence is night and day.
Parent of a 13-year-old soccer player
He finally has tools for the pressure instead of just "try to relax." He walks into tryouts like he belongs there now.
Parent of a 16-year-old baseball player
It isn't only about sports. She's more focused at school, more positive at home, and so much kinder to herself.

Parent FAQ

Good questions, answered.

Is this therapy?

No. Performance and life coaching is forward-looking and skills-based — building confidence, focus, and habits. It is not a substitute for therapy or medical care. If a child needs clinical support, we'll say so and help you find the right professional.

Do you only coach elite athletes?

Not at all. We coach competitive athletes, recreational players, performers, and kids who simply want more confidence and direction in life. The mental skills work for everyone, in and out of sport.

Are sessions virtual or in person?

Both. Most coaching happens virtually for flexibility, with in-person options depending on location. We'll find what fits your family on the discovery call.

How involved are parents?

As involved as is helpful. The sessions belong to your kid, but you'll get progress updates and check-ins so you know what they're working on and how to support it at home.

How soon will we see a difference?

Many families notice a shift in attitude and confidence within the first few weeks. Deeper change — real resilience and consistency — builds with steady reps over time, like any kind of training.
